Marvin Firestone, MD, JD, is a neuropsychiatrist and physician-attorney whose career spans more than five decades of clinical practice, military service, academic leadership, and forensic work. He earned his medical degree from Temple University, completed psychiatric residency at Walter Reed Army Medical Center — where he served as Chief Psychiatric Resident — and retired from the U.S. Army Medical Corps at the rank of Colonel. He later earned his law degree from the University of Colorado.
Dr. Firestone is Past President of the American College of Legal Medicine and recipient of its Gold Medal Award, the College’s highest honor. His institutional appointments have included Neuropsychiatric Consultant to the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Unit at the VA Medical Center, Palo Alto (affiliated with Stanford University), Director of the Neuropsychiatric Head Injury and Dementia Evaluation Services at Sequoia Hospital, and teaching faculty for the San Mateo County psychiatric residency program, with frequent lectures at UCSF and Stanford.
